Seeking God, Sharing Christ, Serving Others

There are plenty of ways to get connected with Eastgate!  We are a small, family-style church whose relationships are genuine and long-lasting. Below are a few of the ways you can participate with us.  Please let us know how we can help you to engage more fully in the life of the church. Our minister is happy to speak with you and help you to find your place.

Groups for Prayer and Study - Seeking God Ministry

Eastgate has several groups that help people of all ages to develop their faith, learn about the Bible, and strengthen their prayer lives.  In this way, we can deepen our spiritual relationships with God.

These groups are planned and coordinated by Eastgate's Seeking God Ministry, which also plans and shapes Eastgate's worship services.

Groups to Deepen Relationships - Sharing Christ Ministry

Eastgate has groups that gather to spend time with each other, deepening their relationships and caring for each other.

They have time for study and service.  They also organize service opportunities and social events for the entire congregation.  In addition, many are active in women's ministry beyond the congregation through women's ministry shared with other Disciples congregations in the Greater Kansas City region and ecumenically with the local chapter of Church Women United.

These groups are guided by Eastgate's Sharing Christ Ministry, which looks for opportunities and activities that build relationships in the congregation, including all-congregation meals and celebrations and efforts to support people during challenging times in their lives.

Groups that Serve Others - Serving Others Ministry

Eastgate has groups that meet regularly to accomplish service projects that seek to improve lives of others in our community and beyond.

These groups are coordinated by Eastgate's Serving Others MinistryLearn more about Eastgate's extensive service projects and partnerships here.

Groups to Enrich Worship

Eastgate has groups that assist with important parts of the weekly worship service.

Property Ministry—This ministry is responsible for the care, repair and protection of the congregation’s property, including supervision and maintenance of all buildings, grounds, and equipment not otherwise assigned to another ministry. They also provide and oversee the custodial work and coordinate volunteer work at the church.

Don't see your favorite type of group?  Each of the above groups were begun by people who were passionate in participating in them and invited others to join. Is there something you are passionate about in learning, prayer, socializing, hospitality, or service?  Start a group at Eastgate!
